School Prefects announced for 2020-21

It gives me great pleasure to introduce to you Bethany’s prefect team for the academic year 2020-21.

Year 12 pupils applied to be prefects back in February, not long before we faced lockdown. Indeed, their initial interviews were scheduled to take place the first week that remote learning began! We had hoped to be able to complete the process face-to-face this term but unfortunately this was not to be, and instead pupils were required to attend interviews online.

Last week myself and Miss Carter, Bethany’s HR Manager, spent a day on Microsoft Teams interviewing all those who had applied. It was a hugely rewarding experience and through their responses to questions the pupils demonstrated resilience and maturity, the ability to reflect on what they have learnt from the current situation, and some thoughtful observations on the new normal at Bethany.

Some of those appointed were even able to visit school this week to talk through initial plans for September and to prepare for Getting to Know Bethany tours that will run for new pupils and parents in the coming weeks.

I am certain that we have appointed a strong and committed prefect team and we very much look forward to working with them over the next year: I have a feeling that it will be a prefect experience like no other that has gone before!
