As part of the Eco Schools Enrichment activity, teams have been learning about the importance of the world’s oceans and how they protect the planet’s climate.

Did you know:

• Oceans store heat from the sun which helps stabilise the weather
• Stable, predictable weather patterns allow greater use of renewable energy sources
• Oceans are the biggest carbon sink on the planet, they actively draw carbon dioxide from the atmosphere
• Coastal ecosystems protect the land from storms
• Oceans are home for many unique species
• Being in or near the ocean has a positive impact on mental health

To celebrate our oceans the teams made a display using recycled materials. Can you spot a hermit crab, killer whale, sea urchin or an octopus?
