On Monday, pupils in Years 9, 11 and 13 attended study skills sessions delivered by ‘Study Skills Zone.’

For Year 11 and 13, this was a revisit of the revision strategies sessions delivered earlier in the year, and the workshops were designed to support pupils in their final weeks of preparing for examinations. Within each session they focused on specific active revision strategies, including Cornell note taking and using thinking and linking grids.

Year 9 looked at the use of retrieval practice techniques for memory encoding to support them in maximising their potential ahead of summer term examinations.

We hope that all the pupils who attended these sessions took something away to reflect on that will support them in their revision practices. It is never too late to make a change and make a difference to those final grades!
