The Sixth Form had many suggestions on which charity should be chosen for our Charity Walk.
It was decided that each tutor group should choose a charity to represent in our weekly Sixth Form assembly and then everyone in the Sixth Form could vote on their choice of charity. The most voted charity was Dementia UK as many people in the Sixth Form had seen the tragic effects of this illness in their own family.
Each group walked on average 20 kilometres and since it was at the start of the academic year it allowed us to have fun in our new tutor groups and get to know each other a bit more. The weather was also perfect as it wasn’t too hot and it didn’t rain as well! Although everyone was very tired at the end of the walk it was very worth it as the sixth form was able to raise £970.
