NCS (National Citizen Service) is a fantastic scheme, subsidised by the government, where pupils can give back towards their local community and develop their skill sets. There’s a two week summer programme and a three week residential programme. Bookings go live on March 27th via wearencs.com
Please do see the blurb below from NCS themselves for more details – the scheme is intended for Year 11 and Year 12 pupils only.
This year’s NCS summer programme will either be a two or three week programme, giving your teen the chance to gain independence, get out the house and stay away from home (only on three week programme). Which, lets face it, is much needed!
Phase 1 will give your teen the chance to test and challenge themselves by trying out new high octane adventures. They will also stay away from home (if they choose a three week programme) and have food and transport provided.
Phase 2 will allow your teen to learn the skills needed for work, further education and independent living. They will complete various workshops to enhance their skills and increase their self-confidence. Your teen will pick up a lot in this phase.

Phase 3 will allow your teen to plan their own project for a cause that’s close to their heart, and then action it to help their local communities and really make a difference.
Phase 4 will allow them to let their hair down and celebrate everything they’ve achieved! They’ll also receive a signed certificate from the Prime Minister.
