The entry deadline was the 21st February for the Bethany School book cover design competition. All entries have now been judged by designer James Macey and we can now reveal the result!
Pupils were tasked with creating a book cover for the highly anticipated sequel to the global sensation BIRD BOX.
MALORIE, the sequel, is the next thrilling edition in the series with author, Josh Malerman, hoping for similar success to his 2012 novel, Bird Box.
The results are in…
WINNER: 1st place – Olivia J, Year 8
Judge, James Macey, said of the design: “Great design work. Strong concept – great use of muted colour and tones with nice clean typography”.
RUNNER-UP: 2nd place – Emilia D, Year 9
Judge, James Macey, said of the design: “Really strong concept using the typography across the eyes and trees on the hairline. Strong choice of font”.
3rd Place – Bert D, Year 9
Judge, James Macey, said of the design: “A really strong concept with a nice contemporary feel about the design that makes you both look and think. Creative typography too.
Special mentions for these strong designs. Fabulous concepts that were not far off the top three.
Strong designs here too that just needed a little more attention paid towards the brief and to spelling.
Great efforts here although too much use of original BIRD BOX imagery. Have to be careful with copyright too.
