On Thursday 28th April Bastion, Bethany’s own Young Enterprise company, competed in the Southern Kent Showcase Company Final. They had previously submitted a detailed company report, and on the day itself met the judges on their trade stand and gave a formal presentation.

 The trade stand showcased the variety of products/services they have offered this year, including selling handmade tealights at the Goudhurst Christmas Fair, a personalised Valentine’s rose delivery service, designing and selling hoodies for the production of Grease, designing and selling the programmes at Grease and having a refreshments stall over the three nights of the production.

 

The judges were really impressed with the way Bastion had stretched themselves in what they offered, and said their presentation highlighted very well the highs and lows of their Young Enterprise experience, importantly including lessons they have learned.

 

It was therefore only fitting that Bastion won the award for “Most Innovative Company” on the night and deservedly returned with a trophy.
