Beaver Computing Challenge Returns to Bethany

After half term, pupils who study Computer Science from across the School will be undertaking the annual Beaver (Bebras) Computing Challenge.

It is a national competition that is designed to test computational (logical) thinking and problem-solving. It is organised over 50 countries and is designed to get pupils excited about computing. The externally organised online challenge will take place in Computer Science lessons during the first week back after half term. There is no need to prepare for it but if you wish to have a taster, please have a look at 3 of the types of questions that could come up! There is no need to prepare for the challenge as it is testing computational thinking rather than computer skills!

Results will be released at the end of November! The top 10% nationally will be entered into the Oxford University Computing Challenge that will be held in January.

Good luck to all those pupils who will be participating!
