Boarding at Bethany

Bethany provides a ‘home from home’ experience in the rural Kent countryside.

We have a thriving and diverse boarding community, with pupils from the UK and many overseas countries.

The community spirit is further enhanced by the large number of staff who live on campus, providing pastoral care while living and socialising with pupils. Our pupils say that one of the best things about being a boarder is that it allows them to create strong and enduring friendships.

Sometimes, parents’ choice of whether to board their children or not is made for them due to practical, geographic reasons. Many others, however, choose to do so for the added value it gives to their child’s school experience.

Flexible Boarding Options

We offer flexible boarding options to accommodate individual needs, including full boarding, weekly boarding, flexi boarding and termly boarding, which can be extended to a year or more. The benefits of boarding at Bethany School extend beyond academic achievements, promoting independence, self-discipline, and lifelong friendships.

Full boarding

Pupils stay at Bethany full-time, except for School holidays.

Weekly boarding

Pupils stay at Bethany from Monday to Friday and return home at weekends. For those who live a little too far away to complete the daily journey in comfort, weekly boarding can provide quality of life, reducing stress during the working week and maximising family time.

Flexi boarding

Pupils can board regularly on set nights of the week for one to four nights.

Term boarding

Pupils can board for 1-3 terms with the option to extend at the end of the term or school year.

“Boarding? At first I was horrified at the suggestion. I wanted my daughter to be at home with me. But then I thought about it. She could be at home at the weekends, prep would be done at school, no rushing about to activities on weekday evenings – the School would take care of all that – it made sense.”
