Children’s Mental Health Week – 6th-12th February 2023
Next week is Children’s Mental Health Week (CMHW) and Tuesday is Safer Internet Day (SID). These two areas of our children’s lives are intrinsically linked. The theme for CMHW is ‘Let’s Connect’ and we will be raising awareness of the themes through tutor times and assemblies.
Each week we post links on our social media channels for mental health talks run by Let’s Talk (click to learn more) and I hope these talks have proved useful alongside the ‘Wake Up Wednesday’ safer internet factsheets provided by National Online Safety (click to learn more).
Next week we will be raising awareness of Kooth (click to learn more). This is a nationwide online app designed to support young people with their mental health.
We are also looking to retain the Wellbeing Award for Schools and next week you should receive an email from Award Place with a parent questionnaire. The feedback from this is very important in helping us retain the award so please do keep a look out for that email and return it. Sometimes it can end up in junk folders.
If you have any worries or concerns about your child’s wellbeing and/or mental health and you are not currently engaged with the School, please contact the pastoral staff, such as your child’s tutor, the Wellness Centre or the Head of Year.
