During activities week Year 12 had two intensive days to organise their next steps post Bethany. We had virtual guest speakers from Oxford Brooks, UCA, and a Level 6 degree apprenticeship engineer. We also held workshops on personal statements, finance/budgeting and a virtual careers fair.
To have a nice balance between the serious and the sporting, in the afternoons Year 12 had a sporting activity: on Monday, Zumba with Mrs Smart and on Tuesday, Dodgeball with Patches O’ Houlihan (aka Mr Khan!).
Undoubtedly the highlight of the week was the Wednesday trip to Thorpe Park where the Year 12 pupils had a great time on all of the rides and even won a few cuddly toys to keep Mr Khan company at Costa Coffee!
Year 12 represented themselves well on all three days and seemed to take away a lot from the ‘Futures Day’ experience. We wish them well in the summer as they finalise their plans, attend open days, undertake work experience and perfect their personal statements.
