Oliver Liversedge followed up his karting efforts in the Teamsport Schools Indoor Karting Championships by attending the ‘24 hour race of Slovakia 2023’ last weekend.
Oliver was selected to be part of the NFS Torpedoes race team, having been spotted by a Ukrainian member of NFS Torpedoes team when karting at Buckmore Park. Oliver travelled to Slovakia on Thursday to prepare for the race which took place over the weekend.
The NFS Torpedoes were the only junior team at the race. The team was made up of aspiring karting racers from across Europe, with Oliver being the only British representative. The event took place at the Slovakia Ring, which is a 1.2km CIK FIA licensed circuit, and the 24hr race was part of the SODI World Rankings Series events.
Over 60 teams, compromising of 360 drivers from across Europe, took part in the race meet. Oliver embraced the experience and performed very well for the NFS Torpedoes team. Day 1 conditions were perfect for racing with a dry track and warm air temperature. Oliver had three long stints on track which tested his karting skills and physical fitness, but he raced very well and kept his team in contention.
Day two brought very different weather conditions as torrential rain hit the circuit. Oliver managed his race session very well using his all experience and skill in the challenging conditions. In total, Oliver was on the track for 4hrs 58mins, the longest out of all his team, and the NFS Torpedoes team finished an excellent 3rd position in their category. Well done to Oliver on a fantastic achievement and we wish him continued success with his karting in the future.
