Bethany School’s Speech Day Celebrates Pupil Achievements

Bethany School’s annual Speech Day proved to be a grand celebration of accomplishments, an opportunity to welcome Old Bethanians for Reunion Day and also bid a fond farewell to Year 13 Leavers.

The vibrant morning event showcased the school’s diverse talents through live music, captivating performances, and impressive pupil work displays. Artwork, projects, and achievements from various subjects were displayed, providing a visual representation of pupils’ hard work and dedication throughout the year. This display of creativity and academic excellence truly showcased the holistic educational experience offered at Bethany School.

Speech Day-17The Speech Day programme included several enlightening speeches by key figures within the Bethany School community. Jonathan Fenn, Chair of Governors, took the stage first, offering words of encouragement and gratitude to the pupils, parents, and staff members. His address highlighted the school’s commitment to fostering a nurturing and supportive environment for every pupil.
The Headmaster’s speech followed, reflecting on the achievements and progress made by the school community over the past year. Emphasising the importance of optimism, the Headmaster commended pupils’ efforts and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence.

The highlight of the speeches came with the guest of honour, Matt Weston. The current World and European Skeleton Racing champion shared personal anecdotes and inspirational insights, encouraging pupils to remain optimistic, chase their dreams and embrace the challenges that lie ahead.

With great excitement, pupils were recognised and awarded for their outstanding achievements throughout the year. The ceremony showcased the diverse range of talents and accomplishments within the pupil body, underscoring the school’s commitment to academic excellence, personal growth, and overall development.

Speech Day-29Following the prizegiving ceremony, the focus shifted to the Year 13 Leavers, who were treated to a special lunch in the school’s function suite. This gathering provided an opportunity for the school community to bid farewell to the Year 13 Leavers, celebrating their time at Bethany School and wishing them well as they begin to embark on the next chapter of their lives.
