Five Bethany School superstar hockey players have been selected to represent Kent in their relevant age groups.
A huge congratulations to the girls after hearing the news at the end of last week. Niamh, Safi and Maisie (top right), all in Year 8, will take to the field together in their respective age group. Elsa (bottom right) will represent the Year 10 equivalent, whilst Olivia (left) and her team will take on opponents whilst representing the Year 11 age group.
The news comes after an extremely tough and competitive selection process that consisted of multiple stages with the girls’ hard work, determination and skill shining throughout.
Everyone at Bethany School is exceptionally proud of the girls’ achievements so far and we look forward to updating everyone about their ongoing successes and progress in the future!
More on Bethany School Sport…
We are justifiably proud of our sporting reputation. We run a full and high-quality fixture list and regularly achieve success against much larger schools. With a whole-school Games afternoon each week, at least two Games lessons a week for all pupils, team practices and sports sessions during ‘Activities’, there are plenty of opportunities to be involved in Sport on a regular basis. All members of the Sixth Form participate in Body for Life, a structured health and fitness programme.
Pupils have the opportunity to compete for the School in regular fixtures; not only in the major team games but also in individual or small team sports. Our staff are specialists, teaching the sports that they are passionate about and offering professional-level coaching for pupils at the top of their game.
The passion of our Sports teachers has allowed the department to evolve far beyond expectations for a school of Bethany’s size. We offer traditional sports such as football, rugby, tennis, cricket, hockey, rounders and netball and perform well in all.
