As they approach the end of their busy year, Bethany’s Young Enterprise Company ‘Arcturus’ took part in the West Kent heat of the National Company Competition.
Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond their control, the entry had to be virtual, so following the submission of a detailed company report, company members took part in a remote interview with a judging panel and submitted a recorded four-minute presentation to same panel.
Competition was very strong, but the judges singled out the incredible teamwork Arcturus have shown throughout the year as well as praising them for producing a wide range of consistently high-quality products and services.
Products that Arcturus have created this year have included wooden chopping boards, coasters and Christmas decorations, all handmade from local renewable sources, as well as handcrafted candles. These were sold when the team attended the Goudhurst Christmas Market back in November. Next up, the team designed and sourced hoodies for Bethany’s ‘School of Rock’ production in January. Official photographs were also sold during the two night run of the production. Most recently, Arcturus have produced Bethany themed custom plates that are the perfect memorabilia for the historic Coronation of King Charles III.
It was fitting that Arcturus received one of the major awards of the competition, that of “Best Teamwork”.
Congratulations to the entire Arcturus team!
