Ben’s exciting new career in the RAF

It’s always nice to hear from Bethany School alumni. Ben Stewart, who attended Bethany from 2012 to 2017, has been in touch to update us on his life post-Bethany and his exciting new career in the RAF.

“I attended Bethany School from 2012-2017 and believe the school has played a huge part in enabling me to succeed in my chosen career in the RAF. I came to Bethany in Year 7 and was fully supported with excellent teaching and knowledge of dyslexia and achieved great GCSE results. These results enabled me to access entry to the RAF, a really interesting and varied job which I love! It was tough to gain entry to the RAF and persevere through challenging training, but I feel the confidence gained at Bethany really helped me pursue my dream.

I am currently a member of 99 Squadron at Brize Norton having completed the very challenging basic training at RAF Halton and an 18 month Apprenticeship as an Aircraft Technician at RAF Cosford. I now work on the C17 Globemasters as an Aircraft Technician and have recently completed a further six weeks of advanced training with Boeing instructors at Farnborough Airport.

I am very grateful for having had a Bethany education and would like to thank all of the staff that supported me and helped me get to where I am today.”
