Off the back of an exciting Olympic summer, the annual Bethany Sports Afternoon lived up to its billing on Tuesday afternoon after just surviving the unpredictable September weather.
During the afternoon, pupils competed in both athletic, field and festival events for their KRS house. From the 50-meter dash to the 600m meter race, long jump and the 4x100m relays, all athletes were committed and performed superbly well.
Field and festival events included long jump, shot put, penalty shootout, wellington throw and target frisbee, all of which were fiercely contested with each house trying to gain the edge.
The competition was a close fought affair throughout the afternoon with winners from all three houses and various age groups scoring first places across the range of track and field events. Into the final relay events of the afternoon, and cheered on by the support, teams delivered good performances and a variety of winners to provide a close and exciting finish to the afternoon events.
All competitors scored valuable points and as a result every athlete was a winner for their KRS House. Well done to all.
