The 2026 GCSE results are a source of enormous pride and satisfaction to the pupils, staff and parents here at Bethany School. While the sun shone brightly all summer, it pales into insignificance when compared to the smiles on the faces of our Year 11 pupils this morning.
Our hardworking Year 11 pupils got outstanding results which is no more than their perseverance deserved. These pupils worked in harmony with their teachers who willingly gave them individualised support and expert guidance. This resulted in our pupils, whose profile is in line with the national average, achieving results way above national norms. The percentage of 9-4 grades is 93% which is well in excess of the national average of 67%.
The broad curriculum offering remains a strength of the school as is reflected in the 100% pass rates in Mathematics, Italian, Photography, Religious Studies, Spanish, Dance and Music.
Francie Healy, Headmaster, said, “I feel both overwhelmed and humbled by the sheer magnitude of the achievements of our Year 11 cohort this year. It has been a joy to witness their evolving maturity and diligence as the year progressed. Watching them working in such close harmony with their teachers was a joy to witness, and personifies the wonderful Bethany community spirit that permeates our classrooms every single day. I’m delighted that our Year 11 pupils have built such a strong platform to embrace the next stage of their education. The sky really is the limit for these pupils”.
Incoming Headmaster, Paul Jones, added, “Despite my brief time with the pupils so far, I’m incredibly proud of what they have achieved today, and I look forward to welcoming them into the Bethany Sixth Form.
