A Level Results 2024: Record number of A* and A grades for Bethany Pupils

Bethany School pupils have once again pulled out all the stops and achieved highly in this Olympian year, with 36% of grades being awarded at A* and A grade level which is well above the national average. Grade boundaries were realigned with pre-Covid standards and our pupils enthusiastically embraced this challenge. They worked diligently and they were guided superbly well by our wonderfully committed staff, with many pupils achieving grades beyond their and their parents’ expectations. The most proven route to success is through hard work and perseverance, which our pupils demonstrated in abundance.

University bound pupils have been accepted into a wide range of destinations such as University of Durham, Loughborough, Exeter, Leicester, Falmouth and Warwick to take up courses ranging from economics and finance to fashion marketing, mechanical engineering, creative and performing arts, reflecting the diverse Sixth Form curriculum provided.

Headmaster, Francie Healy, commented; “Every year I continue to be hugely impressed with the standards our mixed ability cohort of A Level pupils achieve. Each pupil has an individual success story to share which feels all the more poignant to me as I know them so well. Happiness and success can go hand in hand and Bethany’s educational provision and outcomes are proof of this.  This would not have been possible without the pivotal role played by the staff who always go the extra mile to help each pupil fulfil their potential. I wish the pupils well as they embrace the next stage of their lives, be that in university or in the commercial world”.

Pupils and parents alike commented on their time at Bethany School and what the future holds for them.

“I’m really happy with how I did, there’s no way I would’ve gotten into my first-choice university without the care and support of my teachers.”

Lily

“Thank you for my time at Bethany, I’ve got into my preferred university. Thanks for all the love and support I’ve received whilst being at Bethany.”

Sebastian

“It’s been absolutely amazing being here at Bethany. The past two years have been full of fun and sometimes stress! But it’s all over now and now I’m off to my first-choice university in Warwick.”

Sam

“I’m very happy with my results, it was a long and sometimes difficult journey to get here. My teachers helped me so much along the way and I couldn’t get here without them. I’m nervous and excited for the next step at university and will miss everything about Bethany, especially my friends and teachers.”

Celeste

“One foot in the past and one in the future. I’m so excited for university, but will miss Bethany so, so much. Thank you for everything.”

Alex

“Sebastian was very nervous this morning before the results were released and we told him not to worry. Then he received news that he had got into his first-choice university at Durham. Thanks to his hard work and that of his wonderful teachers, he can now fulfil his dreams. Happy days, thank you Bethany!”

Parent of Sebastian

“Bethany School and all of the staff have served David perfectly, and we are very grateful to you all. David’s confidence has grown remarkably during his time here and that is reflected in a super outcome at the end of Year 13. We would definitely recommend Bethany to anyone considering it for their own children. Thank you all, and well done!”

Parent of David

“Alex is what is known as a ‘Bethany Lifer’, having spent seven years here after joining at the beginning of Year 7 as an academic scholar. The teaching and nurturing she has received in her time at Bethany has helped make her into a confident and kind young woman. She is now ready for her next chapter at university and beyond.”
