I wanted to share a few thoughts after this first week of doing school, but differently.
Thank you for the lovely feedback on the first Virtual Chapel I recorded and sent round at the beginning of the week. It’s very new for me and not something I find easy to do so I was very nervous. I appreciated your encouragement.
Please do send me your videos of the My Lighthouse actions. I felt particularly spurred on by the recording I saw from the Year 11’s leaving day of their rendition of My Lighthouse, brilliant.
The words are poignant and I’m glad that they’re so familiar to us at Bethany…
In my wrestling and in my doubts
In my failures you won’t walk out
Your great love will lead me through
You are the peace in my troubled sea
In the silence, you won’t let go
In the questions, your truth will hold
Your great love will lead me through
You are the peace in my troubled sea
My lighthouse, my lighthouse
Shining in the darkness. I will follow you
My lighthouse, my lighthouse
I will trust the promise
You will carry me safe to shore (oh-oh-oh-oh-oh)
Safe to shore (oh-oh-oh-oh-oh)
Safe to shore (oh-oh-oh-oh-oh)
Safe to shore
I won’t fear what tomorrow brings
With each morning I’ll rise and sing
My God’s love will lead me through
You are the peace in my troubled sea
You have to imagine very loud “Oh-OH-Oh-OH’s” sung in Chapel, this seems to be the favourite bit.
Don’t forget that you can email me at anytime. We also have a Bethany parents WhatsApp prayer group which has been good as a support at this time.
Much love to you all,
Rev Serena Willoughby
